Jigs and fixtures for PVD coating and painting
Workholding fixtures developed around the component, equipment constraints and process requirements. Supporting both equipment manufacturers and end users.

Jigs and fixtures for PVD coating and painting.
We design and manufacture bespoke workholding frames and fixtures for PVD coating and industrial painting. One range of equipment, developed to suit the component geometry, surfaces to be treated and equipment constraints.
Locating points, gripping points, orientation and component layout are defined with the customer. The frame configuration is adapted to the process, including the areas to protect and the loading and handling methods.
Supporting and locating the part
The fixture takes into account the shape of the part and permitted contact points. We define locating points and supports to position the component according to the treatment requirements.
Frame configuration
We define overall dimensions, component quantities and layout, gripping points and frame loading methods to suit the component and treatment.

Information needed to develop the fixture
- A drawing, model or sample of the component.
- Surfaces to treat, areas to protect and gripping points.
- Process data, overall dimensions and equipment interfaces.
- Quantities, loading configuration and handling methods.
Bespoke masking.
Masking for PVD coating and industrial painting serves a precise purpose: protecting areas that must remain untreated.
The part drawing, surfaces to leave exposed and positioning methods help us define the masking system. Locating points, supports and masking are considered alongside the process.
We manufacture masking using bespoke 3D-printed plastic components or metal components. Materials and configuration are chosen to suit the part, treatment and operating conditions.

Frame modification and hanger maintenance.
Modifying existing frames
We adapt existing frames for new components or different operating requirements. We assess the structure, support layout and gripping points to agree on the most suitable modification with the customer.
We also maintain frames, assessing damage, wear and the work required.
Hanger maintenance
We assess hanger condition, damage and component wear to define the most suitable work for the customer’s requirements.
Send us photographs of the hangers and a description of the problem: we will help you assess the work required.

Four details to get started.
The part
A sample, dimensioned drawing or model, showing the surfaces to be treated.
The process
Describe the planned treatments, processing stages and process requirements.
The equipment
Overall dimensions, interfaces, handling and loading configuration.
Supply requirements
Quantities, requirements and preferred lead times to assess your enquiry.
Jigs, fixtures and masking: useful answers.
What do you need to quote for bespoke jigs and fixtures?
Share a drawing, model or sample of the component, together with the treatment, equipment data and quantities. Photographs of the existing frame or fixture help explain the project requirements and constraints.
How are jigs and fixtures for PVD coating designed?
Design starts with the component geometry, surfaces to treat and gripping areas. Part layout, overall dimensions and loading configuration are defined to suit the equipment and PVD process.
Are your jigs and fixtures used for PVD coating and painting?
Yes. We manufacture jigs and fixtures for both processes. The configuration is defined for each project, considering the component, gripping points, surfaces to treat and equipment constraints.
How is bespoke masking manufactured?
Masking can be made using bespoke 3D-printed plastic components or metal components. The solution is chosen with the customer to suit the part geometry and treatment requirements.
Can 3D printing be used for masking?
Yes. 3D printing allows us to manufacture plastic components tailored to the part being masked. We assess the design and material according to the process and operating conditions. Explore our bespoke 3D printing service.
Can you modify an existing frame?
Describe the current fixture and the changes required, attaching photographs and drawings. We assess the feasibility of the modification in relation to the new component and equipment.
Do you also manufacture jigs and fixtures for industrial painting?
Yes. We design jigs and fixtures for industrial painting around the component and surfaces to be treated. Together, we define the support layout, gripping points and any masking required.
Need a fixture for a new component?
Send us a drawing or photograph of the component, the quantities and your processing requirements.
